The Festival of Speed at Goodwood is a Mecca for lovers of cars, bikes, motorsport, and the spirit of adventure. It really is a cracking event, something for all the family. I've headed to the FOS a few times over the years, most recently 2014 and 2021, it certainly has grown as an event, in all honesty, you can't physically fit it into a one-day visit. This is a familiar story with many events requiring multiple days to visit. Probably the highlight from 2014 (apart from meeting the legendary Murray Walker) was people-watching by the Mclaren showcase (see picture) there I was checking out Senna and Prost's legendary F1 cars when I spot Christian Horner strolling by in front of us, there were the children and another lady walking behind, I casually asked Kerry "who was that with Christian?" "Jerri Halliwell (now Horner!)" was the reply 😂 It Shows I wasn't a Spice Girls fan, doesn't it? I did notice in 2021 a far greater emphasis on Electric vehicles, our girls loved the electric vehicles, although I love Car and Vehicle photography, I must confess to not being a 'petrol head' I love the aesthetics of cars, but the performance aspects do tend to go over my head! So I wouldn't miss petrol engines but I do hope solutions can be found to keep the classics on the road in a sustainable way.
